Balense® has been reimagined from the ground up. That includes packaging.
Every format, material and component has been carefully considered to create a simpler, more consistent system that is easier to use and easier to dispose of.
Across the range, you’ll now see the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) on pack, giving you clear, step-by-step instructions on what goes where.
A SIMPLIFIED SYSTEM, BY DESIGN
Balense® packaging has been built as a consistent system across the range.
Our core formats include airless pump bottles and tube packaging, supported by recyclable cartons. Additional formats such as foamer and larger pump bottles follow the same approach.
This consistency reduces material variation and makes disposal more intuitive.
Where possible, we’ve:
• Prioritised single-material components, primarily PP plastics
• Designed for compatibility with kerbside recycling systems
• Reduced unnecessary packaging elements
• Standardised formats across the range
OUR AIRLESS PUMP BOTTLES
Airless pump bottles are a core format within the Balense® range, used across the 30ml and 50ml products, with additional formats across the range.
These are designed to protect the formula, minimise product waste and simplify disposal through consistent material use.
• Bottle and pump → Recycle
• Cap → Follow the ARL instructions on pack
Cap recyclability may vary by region for Balense® packaging. In Australia, caps are often recyclable when left attached. In New Zealand, disposal may differ. Always follow the ARL instructions on pack.
Other pump formats across the range follow the same approach.
OUR TUBES
Tubes are also used across the Balense® range and follow the same simplified approach.
• Tube → Recycle
• Cap → Follow the ARL instructions on pack
• Seal (at the tube opening) → General waste
The tube remains recyclable. Simply remove the seal at the opening of the tube on first use and dispose of it in general waste.
WHAT IS THE ARL?
The Australasian Recycling Label is an evidence-based system that shows how to dispose of each part of your packaging.
It breaks packaging into components and provides clear instructions for each one.
You’ll see three main outcomes:
Place in your recycling bin.
Recyclable if instructions are followed.
Place in general waste.

Follow the ARL on pack for the most accurate guidance for your region.
- Recycle the bottle and pump
- Check the ARL for cap instructions
- Recycle the tube
- Check the ARL for cap instructions
- Dispose of seals in general waste
- Flatten and recycle.
